Why I do what I do

With a deep passion for literacy instruction, I've dedicated my career to helping teachers become the best educators they can be.

My journey started in special education, where I quickly realized there was much more to learn about reading and writing instruction. Seeking to expand my knowledge, I pursued a Master's degree focused on Reading and became a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy. However, the learning didn't stop there.

Over the past decade, I've worked closely with teachers, providing support and professional development within a school district. As a mentor for first and second-year teachers, I witnessed firsthand the lack of preparation when it comes to teaching reading and writing. This experience and the current educational climate fueled my desire to make a difference.

At Elm Tree Education, I offer tailored literacy instruction coaching and consulting services to teachers nationwide. Whether it's one-on-one coaching, online courses, or flipped classroom programs, I take a personalized approach to understanding your goals for your classroom, ensuring maximum success in student outcomes. 

My mission is to support teachers in the daily hard work of educating students, providing them with the tools and resources necessary to reach their fullest potential.
